After a long night of drinking, the next thing people look for is food! Nothing helps thwart a nasty hangover like some greasy grub before bed. There are so many fun bars and posh clubs in Los Angeles, and there are equally as many mouth-watering places to satisfy your late-night cravings as the night winds down. This is a list of our 10 favorite places to eat after the bars close.
Situated right in the middle of Hollywood on Sunset Blvd, Hollywood Pizza Café is our top pick for late-night pizza. You can grab a slice or sit down with the crew and order a couple of their specialty pizzas. Among the most popular are the Meat Lovers and BBQ Chicken Pizza. The dough is vegan, and they even offer a gluten-free crust. Round it out with an order of their famous breadsticks and you’ll be sobering up in no time. Hollywood Pizza Café is open until 3am Sunday through Wednesday and until 4am Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Melrose location is convenient to much of the LA nightlife. The menu offers a variety of different ramen and rice dishes. They are known for their freshly made broth and their customizable dishes. Picky eaters will love designing their own plate on the iPad ordering system. We love the Old Skool Ramen, the Pork Chashu Rice, and the Wagyu Ramen Burger. Tatsu Ramen is open until 2am Sunday through Wednesday and until 3am all other nights.
Whether you’re partying in Hollywood or ending your night in Santa Monica, the locals know to do it at Mel’s. Breakfast is served around the clock and we highly recommend the Hangover Omelet and the Biscuits & Gravy. If you aren’t in the mood for breakfast, go for the Sunset Burger or the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. Both the iconic Hollywood location and the new location on Lincoln Blvd, at the end of Route 66, are open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday nights.
This is where you go when you want to keep it old school. The menu is simple yet scrumptious and is the perfect salty, filling ending to a wild night of drinking. You can order up a spicy Caliente Burger, a Chili Cheese Dog or some Chili Fries and a Coke. You’re bound to wake up feeling like a million bucks. The Hollywood Blvd location is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you’ll never have to Uber home hungry.
Originally located next to the iconic Capitol Records building, Du-par’s has been a staple in LA since 1938. Now located on Third St., they are famous for their hotcakes, which they still make to order 24 hours a day, every single day of the week. But if you go to Du-par’s, no matter what you order, you can’t leave without having a piece of pie. They have about 18 different flavors, from Southern Pecan to Lemon Meringue, Banana Cream to Fresh Strawberry. Du-par’s is the long-time go-to for after-hours diners.

It’s always a party at the Roosevelt Hotel, so whether you’ve been dancing on the Rooftop or sipping craft cocktails at the Library bar, it only makes sense to end the night at the hotel’s 24-hour restaurant, 25 degrees. Customize your own burger – make it sirloin, yellowfin tuna or the Impossible non-meat version and add toppings to your heart’s content. Top it off with a classic malt or milkshake and you’ll be in a complete food coma and ready to hit the hay. Even better if you’re a hotel guest and all you have to do is take a short elevator ride to dreamland.
Beverly Hills isn’t quite the party scene that Hollywood and Santa Monica can be, so you’ll have to end your night just a tad earlier to hit up Wally’s. They are open until 2am so if you plan accordingly, you can order a nightcap along with one of their delicious Pizzettas or some decadent Truffle Pommes Frites. Their wine list is what makes them famous so if your group loves wine, you’ll be in heaven at Wally’s.
Swingers has something for everyone in your party. Breakfast is served all day. There are several vegan options, like Tofu Chilaquiles and Vegan multi-grain Banana Pancakes. You can also order up classic dishes like Blue Corn Nachos or a BYO (Build Your Own) Omelet. There are locations in Santa Monica and Hollywood. Swingers Santa Monica is open until 3am and Swingers Hollywood is open until 4am.
Located in the Standard Hotel, if you are partying downtown, this should be your late-night eatery. Enjoy some Chicken & Waffles or the fantastic NY Strip Steak & Eggs. They also boast a mean order of fried pickles. Finish it off with their version of the Ding Dong and you’ll be ready to call it a night. Even if you aren’t staying at the Standard, you’ll be just a quick Uber ride away from many of the Downtown LA hotels.
True Californians know the way to properly end a night of partying: with Mexican Food! Los Tacos is the ultimate LA late-night spot. Order some traditional carne asada tacos, a plate of cheese enchiladas or a smothered bean and cheese burrito and you will be sure to stave off whatever hangover was coming your way. Los Tacos is located on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood and is open 24/7. It is cash only so make sure to be prepared.
